Smallbore rifle Lessons

This course is designed for the individual wishing to learn olympic style smallbore rifle shooting conducted by the SRPC Foundation Junior Marksmanship Program

This course is a multi week course that is designed to take you from the beginning stages of rifle shooting all the way through the more refined skills necessary for shooting NRA a17 targets at 50ft.

Course includes:

introduction to basic principles as defined by the CMP/NRA/USAS and ISSF

setting up shooting gear where applicable (sling, jacket, trousers, glove, shoes)

developing the supported position
-
developing the offhand position
-
developing the prone position
-
developing the kneeling position
-
diagnosing and adjusting position based on point of impact and stability
-
study of sports psychology
-
sport specific games to develop skill further
note: sessions run from 5pm-aprox 8pm every monday night from september till may.

Program outline
This multi week program focuses on building the fundamentals of shooting smallbore by way of utilizing the program set forth in the NRA marksmanship program. it is skills based and will take the student from shooting at the "pro-marksman" (beginner) level, all the way through distinguished expert in either 3 position or 4 position rifle, with final scores upon completion being submitted to the NRA.

Students start by learning air rifle using club supplied rifles in early october and then begin shooting smallbore using 1903 anschutz achievers, 2000s, 1903 target, or for more advanced shooters, walther KK300s. shooters and parents can shoot their own precisions smallbore rifles or air rifles and gear if desired.
